Mono Lake 3D Animation
Mono Lake is a majestic body of water covering about 65 square miles in the high desert of the Eastern Sierra Nevada. At over 1 million years old, it is one of the oldest lakes in North America.
It is also a critical water source for the Los Angeles basin and an essential habitat for a variety of nesting birds. Working closely with the Office of Krister Olmon and exhibit fabricator ColorAd, Harvest Moon Studio designed and produced an animation to illustrate historic changes in water levels—and the delicate balance inherent in water policy that provides water to consumers while protecting natural habitat.
