L.A. Zoo Elephants of Asia

The LA Zoo is engaged in habitat and species preservation efforts around the world, from its own backyard in California to the forests of Cambodia.Harvest Moon Studio has worked closely with the LA Zoo’s education department to develop interactive media for two of its newest exhibits, the California Condor Rescue Zone and Pachyderm Forest. Integrating a live “condor cam”— which lets visitors peer inside remote nesting boxes and flight areas — with a touchscreen program, Harvest Moon helped the Zoo raise awareness about its critical role in the California Condor recovery program.

For the LA Zoo’s new Asian elephant habitat, Harvest Moon designed and produced hardware and media including: a movie about Asian elephants in Cambodia, another video about the elephant keepers at work, Southeast Asian soundscapes, and coin-operated elephant calls.
